Luxe Blooms for less than $5

The humble carnation was a star of many a 70s bouquet but has was relegated to hospital gift-shops and 7-Elevens for many years. I’m bringing the humble carnation back to its former glory. Carnations are not only cheap, but they are also incredibly durable and pretty. Given the right circumstances. A bunch will set you back $4.50 when bought wholesale here in Miami where I get my flowers.

The most important thing when you arrange carnations is that you want the petals back-to-back so it resembles one, luxurious flower. You don’t need a fancy vase. Use a soup bowl, tea cup or a votive. Group together small vases to form an arrangement with more impact.
